EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Executive Assistant

To Chief & Council

The Chief & Council of Naicatchewenin First Nation are seeking a person to fill the position of Executive Assistant.  The Executive Assistant is an administrative position that offers support to Chief & Council in day to day operations.  As the Executive Assistant you will:

  • Coordinate Meetings and take minutes
  • Make travel arrangements for members of Council
  • Maintain schedules for Council Members
  • Prepare and follow-up on correspondence
  • Develop and maintain electronic and paper records
  • Ensure the flow of information between Council, employees and community
  • Answers the telephone, take and relay messages
  • Perform clerical duties
  • Attend meetings on behalf of Council as required
  • Other duties as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of computers and various computer software programs
  • Ability to take direction and to work with minimal supervision
  • Well developed administrative, organizational and communication skills
  • Flexible work schedule with ability to work evenings and week-end
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to understand the Ojibwe language

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Grade 12 Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Upon offer of employment, must provide a Criminal Reference Check that is satisfactory to Naicatchewenin First Nation and adhere to the NFN Employee Drug Testing Policy.
  • Term position until January 31st, 2014

HOURS PER WEEK:     Minimum of 37.5 hours per week
