Child’s First Initiative -CASE AIDE

Temporary Full Time Contract ending March 31, 2022

General Description

The Case Aide assists and provides support to the front-line workers of the Children Services team responsible for case management services to children in care and families for which they service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide relevant, competent support services to all members of Naicatchewenin First Nation children who are in temporary or long-term care of the agency.
  • Ensure support services are delivered with excellence and conform to provincial legislation, regulations and standards and the First Nation and the Children Services vision, procedures, guidelines and protocols.
  • Transport children to and from the following: Medical, dental and optical appointments; Specialized appointments such as treatment and therapy; School, court or other important events.
  • Transport parents to and from Child’s appointment, as deemed appropriate.
  • Ensure the safety of all passengers in the vehicle while transporting.
  • Supervise parents and child access visits.

Qualifications:          

  • Ability to speak Aanishinaabemowin a definite asset.
  • Social Services Diploma or high school diploma with 2 years direct related experience or a combination of skills, education that would allow them to do the job may be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and supporting regulations;
  • Commitment to provide support services in the Anishinaabe context of extended family and community involvement.
  • Experience working with high risk and special needs children.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Valid Ontario drivers license and access to own vehicle for travel purposes.
  • As per Naicatchewenin First Nation Drug Testing policy, the successful applicant will be required to submit a drug test as a condition of employment.

Salary:

  • Based on qualifications and experience.
