Healthy Babies/Healthy Children’s Coordinator

Purpose:
Naicatchewenin is seeking to hire a full time Healthy Babies/Healthy Children’s (H.B.H.C.) Coordinator. The H.B.H.C. Coordinator will assist the children, youth and parents to develop healthy lifestyles, as well promote and deliver program services that enhances the well-being of children and youth. The H.B.H.C. Coordinator is responsible to report to the Director of Health and Social Services.

- Ability to take direction and follow through
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality guidelines
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to role model positively at all times
- The ability to speak Ojibway fluently is an asset
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED;
- Post Secondary Diploma in Early Childhood Education or similar;
- One (1) year experience working with children;
- Knowledge of available resources within the community and localities appropriate for families of newborn children to the age of (6) years
- Knowledge of the Naicatchewenin First Nation, the organizational structure, and the community’s culture, beliefs and traditional lifestyles;
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
- Must provide a criminal reference check satisfactory to the First Nation
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle access or reliable means of transportation
- First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within three (3) months of hire
- As per Naicatchewenin First Nation Drug Testing policy, the successful applicant will
be required to submit a drug test as a condition of employment.
